4th Annual Wexford Ridge Talent Show: Steppin’ On Out

by Jonathan Gramling

For the fourth year in a row, the youth - and some adults - of the Wexford Ridge community turned out at Memorial High School on December 6 for the Annual Talent Show sponsored by the Wexford Ridge Neighborhood Center. The quality of the acts and the support from the audience showed that no one has it on Wexford Ridge.

After a guest performance - introduced by Kabzuag Vaj - by the Keng Players, Wexford Ridge got down with rap, gospel, and so much more. Among those letting their talented lights shine were the Youth Dancers, Alvin & Reign Boys, Justin, Ecamy, Latonya Jackson, James Horton, Project Team Build-Up, Safia, the Lady Soldiers, and Regina Wilson. And, of course, it wouldn't be a talent show without center director Paul Terranova speaking some soulful poetry.

The youth performed a special tribute to their friend Tyler. Tyler, the grandson of a Wexford resident, was tragically killed in a car crash in December 2002. The youth of Wexford Ridge showed that his presence has been missed and that he has not been forgotten. His memory lives on.
