  • Documentary film

Jewish Social Services will show the award-winning documentary film, “Trembling Before G-d,” directed by Sandi Simcha Dubowski, Monday Dec. 13, 7 p.m. at the Temple Beth El Lounge, 2707 Arbor Drive. The film is an in-depth investigation into the plight of Orthodox and Hassidic Jews who are gay and lesbian and wish to remain actively committed to their Judaism. ASSE International, a student-exchange program, is looking for volunteers to serve as area representatives in their local community. Area representatives recruit and screen prospective host families, interview students to study abroad, and supervise the visiting exchange students in their community.
