  • Christmas trees

The Forestry Club at the University of Wisconsin-Madison will hold its 27th annual holiday tree sale Dec. 3-5 at the Stock Pavilion, 1675 Linden Drive. Sale hours are Friday, Dec. 3, 8 a.m.-9 p.m.; Saturday,. Dec. 4, 8 a.m.-8 p.m.; and Sunday Dec. 5, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Prices are $25 for white pine trees, $35 for balsam firs, and $45 for Fraser firs. Wreaths will cost $18.

  • MAFAAC meeting

The Madison Area Family Advisory/Advocacy Coalition will have a meeting to talk about the emphasis schools are making  to be a more welcoming place for adults and students of color Saturday, Dec. 11, noon-3 p.m. at the Bahai Center, 324 W. Lakeside St. For more information, call 836-0616.

  • Democratic Party potluck

Columbia-Adams County Democrats will hold a potluck meeting for everyone who helped at headquarters in Portage, ran for office, or worked on any Democratic campaign Saturday, Dec. 12, 3:30- 5:30 p.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 211 Pleasant St. in Portage.

  • Neighborhood House auction

Neighborhood House Community Center, 29 S. Mills St., will hold its 23rd Annual Charity Auction Saturday, Dec. 4, 2 p.m. The Greenbush's very own auctioneer Andy Heidt will auction off all new items and gift certificates from local businesses, artists and restaurants. All auction proceeds will support Neighborhood House's community, youth and senior programs and services.

  • All Nations Week

In the interest of celebrating student diversity, Madison West High School is holding an All Nations Week from Dec. 6-10. There are over 100 different nations and Native American tribes represented by first- or second-generation students of West High. The week is the culmination of months of collaborative effort from administration, students, and faculty to celebrate  diversity.   • Business training for government contracts

Madison Area Technical College will help local businesses learn how to effectively compete for contracts to sell their products and services to the federal government at four training seminars to be held on Wednesday, Dec. 8.
