As part of a concert featuring the winners of the annual student-concerto competition at the School of Music, the UW Symphony will perform a new work by Jerry Hui Sunday, April 4, 4 p.m. in Mills Hall of the Mosse Humanities Building, located at the corner of Park Street and University Avenue, 455 N. Park St. Hui, a Hong Kong native and a senior at UW-Madison, will graduate this spring with a bachelor's degree in music composition and computer science. Hui has studied composition with Joel Naumann and Stephen Dembski at the UW School of Music and has been a founder and conductor of two choirs: Museko, a community choir of about 20 voices, and the campus-based Contemporary Vocal Ensemble. The Center for East Asian Studies will present Performances, Dance, Music, and Puppets of Tateyama, Japan, by the Japanese Chiba Prefecture Goodwill Delegation Friday, April 2, at Union South, 227 N. Randall St., 1-4:30 p.m. There will be a puppet play and workshop, traditional Japanese dances, traditional Japanese instrument performances, Kendo demonstrations, and displays of puppetry and bamboo flute techniques. The Wisconsin Partners for SustainAbility will host their second annual Art Sale and Silent Auction fund-raiser Saturday, April 3, 9 a.m.- 3 p.m. in the Lower Meeting House of the First Unitarian Society, 900 University Bay Drive.
